The Bands

The Tim Malloys

The Tim Malloys

Equal parts pub and punk, the Tim Malloys fuse traditional Irish music with a raucous Minneapolis sound and sensibility. They're a cornerstone of the Twin Cities Celtic crossover scene, with five records released since their 1994 inception. Their acoustic-on-fire guitar trio sound is flavored by the trad-rock songs made popular by a wide range of bands from The Pogues, Flogging Molly, or the Dropkick Murphys to Tom Waits, The Dubliners, etc. The Tim Malloys conjure up a bootlegger's dream of powerful guitar, manic grooves, and rollicking callbacks. Something whiskey this way comes...

Irish American

Irish American w/ Special Guest Ryan Young

Irish American is the new duo record by northern Minnesota-based musicians Teague Alexy and Erik Berry. Berry is the mandolinist for nationally recognized bluegrass act Trampled by Turtles. Alexy is a celebrated singer-songwriter both under his own name and in the Americana group Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Their new release features nine traditional Irish favorites, including "Whiskey in the Jar," "The Wild Colonial Boy" and "Mountain Dew," as well as two original songs. The album features guest appearances by Trampled by Turtles fiddler Ryan Young, Nicholas David, Jillian Rae, Ian Alexy and members of Pert' Near Sandstone and Pistol Whipping Party Penguins.

Release the Craicen

Release the Craicen

Release the Craicen was a startup band new to the Irish scene in 2017. The debuted in a pub sing along on St. Patrick's Day, you can often find them down at the Dubliner Pub in St. Paul. Focusing on a Pogues and Flogging Molly influenced Irish Rock-Folk-Punk style; classic rock rhythms raise up rousing choruses while fiddle and accordion tunes reminisce days gone by. Between classic pub songs, modern Paddy Rock covers and an original or two, Release the Craicen has something for everyone.
